Letter to Local Lodge 2210 from New President

March 29, 2016
Brothers and Sisters:
Larry Morgan has been relieved of his duties as the President of LL2210. As the active Vice President at the time these actions occurred, I, Jeff Carlson have been appointed president of LL2210 effective immediately. I will be sworn into office at the Regular Business meeting in April. I have been a member of LL2210 since the United Airlines Customer Service Representatives were organized in 1998. It was my honor to serve as the Committee Chair for the United Airlines employees for 18 years. I have been a long time e-board member, having previously served in the roles of trustee, conductor sentinel, and Vice President. I am also an educator for District Lodge 141, teaching shop steward classes to locals who request training.
I know this news comes as a shock to many. In the name of transparency, I’ll offer a brief explanation of why this occurred. District 142, in the course of certifying eligibility for candidates in the upcoming DL142 election, discovered a delinquency in President Morgan’s dues. Dues have not been paid by President Morgan since the middle of 2014. The IAMAW constitution requires all members of the e-board to be members in good standing. A full explanation of these actions will be given by Grand Lodge Representative Shawn Humpherys at our regular meeting on April 13, 2016.
It’s an honor for me to have the opportunity to serve in the Role of President of LL2210. I will endeavor to advance the ideals and principles of our Union, and will put my whole heart into serving the members of our Local Lodge.

In Solidarity,
Jeff Carlson
President LL2210
