Today we had a very productive conversation with Marshall Lamm. He is the manager for Landslide property at ABIA.
Below is a recap from our conversation
- The Employee Lot has been getting full between 10:30am – 12:30pm (noon). SP+ has been closely monitoring the situation and staffing the lot during that time each day. The staff at the lot will distribute Validation Tickets when the lot becomes full for employees to park in the public Economy Lots free of charge. No employees are expected to pay the daily rate in the public lots if they were sent there because the Employee Lot was full.
- If employees have paid any daily parking fees in the last 30 days because the employee lot was full, please send a photo of their receipt to info@abiaparking.com to request a refund. Each refund request is reviewed on a case-by-case basis so I cannot guarantee a refund will be issued until SP+ has had time to review all documentation. If it is determined that a refund is due, SP+ will process it accordingly.
- Additional buses are added to the Employee Lot during that peak time to get people back to their cars more quickly (freeing up space) and get people to the terminal more quickly.
- We are planning for expanded Employee Parking capacity and we will start communicating later this year on the transition to the new lot.
- We discussed some alternative routes like using the loading dock for drop offs and pickups. We explored this a few years ago and determined the route would be too inconsistent because the loading dock can become crowded during certain times of the day. However, I’m happy to circle back to this discussion internally.
